The Mount Pleasant Public Library has two notary public on staff who are available to notarize documents by appointments only. This service is available most weekdays from 9 am to 4 pm. To schedule an appointment, please call the library at (319) 385-1490, and ask to speak with Amber or Kayleigh.
Be sure to bring a photo ID (license, state-issued ID, or passport).
This service is provided free of charge.
We do not have the authority to prepare legal documents, or give legal advice. This means that we are unable to notarize birth/death certificates, court records, and deeds.
